My artistic practice focuses on the concept of a space beyond a space that houses the
intangible forms of individuals. Through the physical exploration of spaces my practice looks
not just at the material of a space, but at every aspect of it. By looking past the structural
familiarity of a location to uncover the psyche encapsulated by overlapping interactions of
individuals within the context of the space.
I seek to understand the importance of a place from a non linear perspective, via the
use of the photographic medium. By breaking a non linear perspective using intentional
camera movement, with the purpose of mapping the space. Mapping allows for the layering of
visual information and documentation of our world without restricting the created artwork to
a linear point of view.
By physically going to spaces I interact with the formless psyche’s that remain as traces
of individuals and groups that have witnessed the changing structures of a space. As the artist I
witness this, mixing it with my own psyche to represent the space of that present moment. The
combined representation of recorded information from our world then mingles with that of
the viewer which then creates their own understanding of the mapped location that is built off
of these intermingling narratives.
