Amanda Maglis-Long is a contemporary landscape and wildlife artist, who is based in Calgary, Alberta. She is an acrylic painter, whose love of nature has inspired her bright and vivid artworks. Her home surroundings in the city and nearby mountains have influenced her paintings mixture of concise solid lines and strong blended colours. Her work captures the beauty and diversity of Canada’s majestic wilderness. The importance of preserving these landscapes and the wildlife within them is significant to Amanda. Through her paintings, she aims to inspire a deeper appreciation for nature and promote environmental responsibility.
Amanda is an avid hiker, mountain biker and skier, on the trails is where she finds endless inspiration. She studied Graphic Design at ACAD and Engineering Design & Drafting at SAIT in Calgary. These very different backgrounds have greatly influenced her style and process. Her paintings are distinct and instantly recognizable as her own. She has shown in galleries and art shows across the country. Amanda’s original paintings can be found in private collections across Canada, the United Staes and Germany.
